Today is the 100th day of Philippine lockdown. Though some restrictions were eased already, I still lock myself in the four corners of my house where I feel safe, secure and happy. Okay, let’s be honest here, there was a time I felt sad or maybe even depressed because I am not used to seeing walls 24/7. I miss seeing my friends, dining out, going to the beach and swim. I long for the outdoors.
I was supposed to be in Italy right now to study and travel at the same time. But last March, my flight to Rome was cancelled because it was the first day of PH Lockdown. I don’t know if I will laugh or cry. I chose to laugh anyway and thank God because PH was safer that time.
I realized that there’s a lot of things to be thankful for and I am glad that my sadness turned into joy. I tried to think about positive things, which helped me a lot. The lockdown gave me lots of opportunities to learn new things, focus on my studies and do some artsy fartsy stuffs. I was able to spend more time with my mom before going to the other side of the world.
So, the world might be a mess now, but in the right time, all things will fall into its perfect place. Safe and healthy again. For now, let’s choose to be happy, resilient and hopeful.
One of my favorite subjects to shoot is sunset. The colourful palette in the sky makes me calm and gives me peace.
